Raw Milk Movement (rawmilkmovement.org) is a work of U-Neac Ministry, a private irrevocable ecclesiastical trust (“we”, “us”). This page explains, in plain words, what information we keep, why we keep it, and the choices you have. The short version: we keep only what we need to serve you, we guard it, and we never sell it.
As a private ministry, we hold the records of our members and beneficiaries privately. We regard the privacy of those records as a right protected by the First and Fourth Amendments to the Constitution of the United States, and we share them only as this page describes.
What you give us
- Farm listings: when a farm lists itself, the farm’s name, contact details, town, ZIP code, what it offers and the privacy level it chooses.
- Messages to farms: your name, email and message when you contact a farm through us. We pass them to the farm so it can reply to you.
- Email sign-ups: your first name and email when you ask for the free guide or our updates. If you then search the Milk Finder by ZIP code, we save that ZIP code with your sign-up (and on your account, once you have one) so we can tell you about farms near you.
- Beneficiary account: your first name, email and password (stored only in scrambled form; we cannot read it).
- Community: your name, email, and what you post: posts, comments, photos and event replies.
What is collected automatically
- Website analytics: we use Google Analytics to see which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are (city or region), the kind of device and browser, and how people found us. Visits by our own signed-in team are not counted.
- Server records: like every website, our server records the internet address, browser and pages requested. We use these to keep the site running and secure, for example to slow down repeated wrong passwords.
How we use it
- To run the Milk Finder: show each farm the way it chose, pass your messages to farms, and help you find farms near you.
- To run the community: your account, confirming your email, showing your posts and keeping the community safe.
- To send you news, but only if you signed up for it (see “Emails” below).
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
- To protect the site, our members and our farms from abuse and fraud.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade our email list.
Emails
When you ask for something here, we email you about it. News and updates go only to people who signed up for them, and every newsletter has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing from news never stops the emails you need for something you asked for, such as a sign-in code or a confirmation.
Cookies
- Sign-in cookies keep you signed in.
- A sign-up cookie remembers for one year that this browser already gave us its email, so the ZIP code you search can be saved with it. A ZIP searched before you sign up is held in a cookie for up to 30 days.
- Google Analytics cookies tell visits apart (see above).
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works, though you may need to sign in or enter your email again. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on.
Who else sees it
Only the services that help us run the site, and only what they need:
- DigitalOcean hosts the website and its database (United States).
- Amazon Web Services delivers our emails.
- Google provides Analytics and Search Console.
- Anthropic provides the AI behind the assistant our own team uses to run this site.
- Telegram carries private alerts to our own team when something needs our attention.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our members, our farms or the public.
What other people can see
- Farm listings show only what each farm chose: its full details, its town only, members only, or referral only. A farm’s email and phone are shown only if it chose “show fully”, and map pins sit at town level, never at a farm’s gate. When you message a farm, the farm sees your name, email and message so it can reply.
- In the community, other members see your name with your posts, comments and replies. Your email address is never shown to other members. We look over posts and may remove posts or block an email address to keep the community kind and safe.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while it is useful for the reason you gave it. Then we delete it or keep only what we must. Server records are kept for a short time for security. Ask us any time and we will delete your information, unless we are required to keep it.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from news with the link in any newsletter.
- Ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it.
- Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local privacy laws; we will honor them. Write to us and we will answer within 30 days.
Keeping it safe
The site is served over an encrypted connection, passwords are stored only in scrambled form, repeated wrong passwords are slowed down, and only our team can see your forms and applications. No system is perfectly secure, but we take care with what you trust us with.
Children
This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13; if you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top, and if a change is important we will say so plainly on this page.
